Summer is the cruelest month for those of us who don’t have perfect bodies. It’s hot here in California, but stripping off the layers to shorts and a tank top can feel like having one of those nightmares where you suddenly realize don’t have any clothes on at all. You catch sight of yourself in a store window and feel horrified. Even on a good day, you may find yourself worrying about how your arms look or if anyone else notices that varicose vein on your leg. Going swimsuit shopping can leave you feeling blue for days. With all the images that surround us showing women with perfect, airbrushed bodies, it’s easy to get discouraged.
